As part of a recent Tchendukua France mission to Colombia, the Kogi communities watched the documentary film “Kogis: Together to Heal the Earth”, directed by Alexandre Bouchet, which stemmed from the 2023 joint assessment. Luis Alimaco presented the film and translated it into Koggian, enabling a sharing of European knowledge and experiences, whilst reaffirming the primacy of local perspectives… Luis highlights the exchange “from the invisible to the invisible” with scientists, where different systems of knowledge meet on an equal footing. His time in Europe has brought him face to face with changes to the landscape and water management: “Water is the heart of the world,” he reminds us, emphasising the awareness and discipline required to take action on the ground.

Mamu José Pinto warns of the imbalances caused by certain infrastructure projects: “If water is blocked, the land ceases to function.” 

Together, their words invite us to rethink our methods, placing lineages, memory and invisible forces at the heart of educational and environmental projects…
