“KOGIS, Together to Heal the Earth” is a documentary film born out of a rare dialogue between the Kogi, Wiwa and Arhuaco peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and our Western society.
Through powerful images and deeply meaningful words, this film invites us to understand what it means to care for living things, restore lost balance, and relearn how to listen to the Earth.
Synopsis of the film “KOGIS, Together to Heal the Earth”
This documentary recounts the cross-cultural dialogue initiative led by Tchendukua in France in September and October 2023. The aim, in a fragmented world, is to reconcile ancestral knowledge with modern science, analytical approaches with sensitive perceptions of the land. Scientists and Kogi representatives came together and exchanged perspectives along the Rhône, at sites of high natural value. For the Kogi, the land functions in the same way as the human body. It is no longer a mere object, a vehicle for development, but appears as a subject with which we must rediscover the paths to peace… Forests, rivers, lakes and glaciers are the fragile organs of an immense living body: the Earth. In an era of profound imbalances, this documentary questions our ability to incorporate indigenous perspectives to reinvent our connection with nature. Driven by a universal message of hope, it calls for the preservation of the Earth’s balance by blending modernity with tradition.
