A few words on the progress of our activities in Colombia

In addition to the 86 hectares already returned to the Wiwa people during 2023, a further 60 hectares have been returned to the Gonawindua Tayrona Organisation (OGT), which represents the Kogi people, as the year draws to a close. These lands are situated in the Mendihuaca Valley, the association’s first area of intervention. On one of the plots, there are iguana petroglyphs, which hold great spiritual significance for the communities.

In the photograph above, on the right, you can see a plot of land in the Mendihuaca Valley that was purchased and returned to the Kogi people over six years ago. On the left, where the vegetation is less lush, is a plot of land that has not been returned to the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Thank you to all the communities at the ends of the earth who inspire us to safeguard biodiversity.
