Awareness
Through conferences, film-making, reports, documentaries, books, press articles, and workshops, the aim is to promote the rich diversity of cultures, practices and knowledge which, far from being primitive, archaic or outdated, represent tremendous sources of inspiration and renewal for our ways of thinking, in fields as varied as health, education, community life, knowledge transmission, conflict management, decision-making, and so on.
In connection with these issues, the aim is also to challenge people to reflect on their relationship with nature, both individually and collectively.
The association regularly plans and organises events in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada:
- Conferences aimed at the general public. Tours featuring shamans and/or representatives of the Kogi community. In 2012 and 2015, national tours were organised in 12 cities across France and Switzerland.
- Awareness-raising and training initiatives on the challenges of sustainable human development (conferences, seminars, workshops) via our partner ‘l’École Pratique de la Nature et des Savoirs’.
The association is regularly invited to take part in festivals such as the Anako Festival
and L’Oreille sur le Monde…
In 2017, as part of the France-Colombia Year, Tchendukua – Ici et Ailleurs, invited by Editions Actes Sud, presented an exhibition as part of the Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles. Some 70 photographs were on display for nearly three months. The exhibition was opened by Françoise NYSSEN, Minister for Culture.
Lise FABBRO, project officer, visits schools in France and Switzerland to present the younger generation with a different perspective on the world: that of an indigenous people, the Kogis of Colombia. Our association has therefore organised activities (exhibitions, educational workshops, conferences, etc.) in several schools, including La Jordanne secondary school in Aurillac, the André-Chavanne secondary school and business school in Geneva, and the Saint-Lazare-Saint-Sacrement Institute in Autun.
Eric JULIEN, founder of the association, and Michel PODOLAK, Vice-President, also offer corporate talks, notably through the networks of the APM (Association for Management Progress), Germe, the Centre for Young Executives, Réseau Entreprendre, and numerous independent companies. They also speak together on the theme of ‘The Living Enterprise’, thereby promoting the values upheld by the peoples of the Sierra.
Finally, Tchendukua is regularly featured in the media (radio, television, press) in France (both national and regional) and abroad, through interviews, articles and reports on the association’s members or activities.
Tchendukua – Ici et Ailleurs is active on social media: Facebook, Twitter. Furthermore, numerous videos are available on YouTube.
Books and DVDs about the Kogis are available in our shop. Among the latest publications: “Le choix du vivant, 9 principes pour manager et vivre en harmonie” by Marie-Hélène STRAUS, president of Tchendukua – Ici et Ailleurs, and Eric JULIEN, founder of the association.
